ATTENTION CRAWFORD COUNTY (OH) PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOL MUSICIANS:

From 2006 until the Spring of 2021, Xband existed in Crawford County (OH) as an important asset for public high school musicians interested in learning about preparing for and performing live music - and recording music for release. Now it's back, and if you're reading this - we hope its because you have some interest in becoming a member of a new group of musicians that will pick up where the last group left off - and inspire future area public high school musicians to do the same.

We’re hope you’re as excited about the road ahead as we are, but first - we ask you to PLEASE keep these points in mind:

  • Don't wait until the last minute to register.
  • Read ALL of the instructions and details, and if you don't understand - ask.
  • Don't discourage anyone you know or don't know from registering because you think it's a clever plan to "increase your chances" of being selected/ winning.
  • Don't decide we've probably accepted all the registrations we're going to accept and then not register unless you've heard that from us.

Disregarding those points can cause lost opportunities and failed promotions.

Currently, registration is only open to Crawford County (OH) public high school singers, electric bass, drum set, electric guitar, trumpet, trombone, and saxophone players…because we have been impressed and believe in the high school musicians in our local area. However - during a different promotion early this year - we received evidence of individual Crawford County high school musicians discouraging peers from registering. Evidence of that happening again will end the early registration period, and we'll expand eligibility to all of the neighboring counties.

We also learned from that promotion that there were musicians who elected not to register because they assumed “It was already full”/ "I don’t have a chance.” The success of these promotions depends on being able to select submissions from the strongest musicians. If you think you’re good, send something in. If you think you’re pretty good, send something in. If you haven’t heard from us that the promotion has ended, its open…so send something in.

Once we've assembled the right musicians, things will start to happen:

  • We'll produce a recording that will be distributed to Apple Music, Spotify, & YouTube Music.
  • YOU will be on this recording. Your school music program will be represented, and your efforts will be heard by people across the region.
  • If that recording hits 500 plays in its first 30 days, we'll meet to discuss what it would take to become a "working band" with shows in the area and possibly in other parts of the state (we know some people).

Please read CAREFULLY through the rules and instructions for entry below. All registrations MUST BE CORRECTLY SUBMITTED BEFORE 8:00PM ON SEPTEMBER 30, 2024, and if you have any questions before submitting your registration, please don’t hesitate to reach us via DM on Facebook, Instagram, or through the contact form here.

High school-aged musicians are the future of live music and the recording industry, and neither will survive it without you.
